Malin and David have the best ideas for children and youth
Malin Agn and David Lillo have convinced the Playing for Change jury that they have the best ideas for creating a better Sweden for children and youth. They will now receive salary funding and advice from some of the Kinnevik Group's sharpest employees for one year. All to help them realize their visions.
- We need new ideas on how to create a better society for children and youth, and there is a need for strong, committed and creative individuals who can fulfill their ideas. Malin and David is just such individuals and I am very excited to see what they will achive now when they get the oppurtunity to invest their full time, says Sara Damber, CEO of Playing for Change.
Playing for Change is working for a better society by investing in social entrepreneurs. In February this year Playing for Change announced a challenge on innovative ideas that can make society better for children and youth. Among hundreds of applicants with great ideas, two winners have finally beenselected. Both will receive salary financing for minimum one year and professional support fromemployees within the Kinnevik Group. They are:
- David Lillo, Husby Marathon Programme. Husby Marathon Programme is a method of encouraging less fortunate children to boost their self-esteem and guide them in life through the act of running. David, who’s path to becoming a lawyer was quite a journey in itself, is now putting all his energy into Husby Marathon.
Malin Agn, mulligabarn.se. Mulligabarn.se is based on a scientifically validated method to support parents with overweight children. 100 000 children in Sweden are currently overweight. Today the Swedish government only provides support to those children which are deemed “obese”. However, there is a lack of knowledge and support for all those who are at risk to fall into this status.
The jury consisted of Mia Brunell Livfors, CEO of Kinnevik, Manfred Aronsson CEO of MTG Sweden,Mikael Westerberg, Strategic Planning Korsnäs, Pernilla Oldmark, Information Director Tele2, Johan Eriksson, General Manager Transcom, Andreas Ohlsson, CEO Metro Sweden and Sara Damber.
Besides the two new entreprenuers eight, that were selected in 2010, have been choosen for one more year of support. They are: Ida Östensson (Crossing Boarders) Nils Holm (På rätt köl) Johan Wendt (Mattecentrum) Åsa & Johanna Järnhäll (utnyttjad.se) Soledad Pinéro Misa (Retoy) Laila Lindberg(Läkande Lek) Miriam Lundqvist (Lajvverkstaden) och Patricia Rawecka (Gro Leksaker).
