Evaluation process
Our main focus is to reach the most powerful effect possible for children and young people. Thus, our success is measured in our ability to transform innovative ventures run by new social entrepreneurs into sustainable activities and programs that benefit children and youth. Therefore we use a carefully designed method for evaluating social impact, our Impact Report Process.
Our Impact Report Process is a method for continuous follow-up and evaluation based on social accounting and change theory. Our Playmakers must describe a methodical, well-reasoned and goal-oriented work process to be able to spot and follow-up social impact and what it is that led to it. Each Playmaker must work in a transparent and structured manner, using a clear vision, and identifying distinct goals, activities, target groups and partners. They must also continuously document the development of their work.
At the beginning of Year 1 in the Incubator, goals and indicators are identified. At the end of the year these will be followed up and evaluated. A report is prepared that describe social effects and results. These will be analyzed in several steps. An external examiner, an expert on the specific subject matter, will review the report first. In the next step, a Live Review is held, where concerned parties discuss the report. Finally, the finished Impact Report is presented to the Playing for Change jury, who will decide on whether the social entrepreneur will receive a go or no-go for a second year in the Incubator.
